Audi Reports Best March Sales Ever - Record First Quarter

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 3 Audi of America, Inc.
reported sales of 7,428 for the month of March, up 8 percent over the same
month last year when sales were 6,868.  It was Audi's best March ever and a
record first quarter with a total of 19,479 vehicles sold.

    The TT Coupe and Roadster continue to sell at a solid pace with 1,257 for
the month.

    The A4 finished the month with an increase of 4 percent with sales
totaling 3,322, a record sales month for the model.  The A6 with 2,225 sales,
was down from March 2000, when sales were 2,945.  The allroad quattro, Audi's
new crossover vehicle, reported sales of 418 for the month.

    Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 reported 206 units sold.  The long
wheelbase version, the A8 L, and new 360-hp S8 accounted for about 53 and 38
percent of the A8 sales, respectively.
