MARTINSVILLE, VA – With the Virginia 500 less than a week away, the rumors are already flying. But pay them no mind. Plenty of tickets remain for this Sunday’s Virginia 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race at Martinsville Speedway.

“It seems to happen every year about this time,” said Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell. “Somehow the rumor starts that we are sold out for the Virginia 500 and again this year, that’s just not the case.”

Ticket sales have been “very strong” for this Sunday race, Campbell said, but great seats remain for the Virginia 500 for $40-$60.

There are a few tower seats remaining in the Bill France Tower along with grandstand seats for the Virginia 500. All of the grandstand seats are now covered with aluminum seats with backrests, which has replaced the concrete seats.

Tickets for the remaining tower seats are $60 with prices of other seats ranging from $40 to $55.

Martinsville Speedway is also offering family unreserved seating that allows parents to bring children ages six to 12 to the Virginia 500 for $5 per child. Adult tickets in the family unreserved area will be $40. Children under age six get in free to the Family Section. The Family Section goes on sale race morning at 7:30. The Virginia 500 is set to take the green flag at 1 p.m. Sunday

Along with the Winston Cup tickets, there are plenty of good seats for Saturday’s Advance Auto Parts 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. Tickets for the Advance Auto Parts 250 Craftsman Truck race are $30 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. All seats are unreserved. The Advance Auto Parts 250 begins at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Virginia 500/Advance Auto Parts 250 weekend kicks off with Bud Pole qualifying for the Craftsman Truck Series at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6 followed by time trials for the Winston Cup Series at 3 p.m. Tickets for qualifying are $15 for adults and children under 12 get in free.
