Donaldson Company Named PACCAR 2000 CMP
Supplier of the Year
MINNEAPOLIS, April 2 Donaldson Company, Inc. ,
a leading manufacturer of filtration systems and replacement parts, announced
today that it has been named PACCAR Inc.'s 2000 Cost Management Partnership
(CMP) Supplier of the Year for the Powertrain and Chassis Systems category,
one of only three CMP awards given by PACCAR each year.
With the award, PACCAR, a leading manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty
trucks, recognizes suppliers that submit ideas to reduce costs through design,
materials, process and logistics changes and improvements in its supply chain
management. Donaldson Company submitted the most cost-savings programs as a
percentage of sales among PACCAR's Powertrain and Chassis Systems suppliers,
including reductions from reusable packaging, line sequencing and integrated
systems designs for new and existing products and platforms. In total, these
initiatives accounted for nearly 10 percent in annual savings to PACCAR.
"We are delighted at our selection as the PACCAR CMP Supplier of the
Year," said Rod Kunkel, global director of Medium and Heavy Commercial
Vehicles, Donaldson Company. "This award is an honor for our team and
company, recognizing our partnership with PACCAR and our commitment to
cost-reduction initiatives. Going forward, we will continue to carefully plan
and refine our initiatives to provide value-added, cost-saving solutions to
PACCAR."
