ADVISORY/The Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology Announces The Eye and The Auto: Leading Researchers On Vision and Automotive Safety Will Convene This June Near Detroit
--With the goal of reducing traffic accidents, injuries and death, leading automotive experts and researchers from the world's major manufacturers and research centers will convene in Auburn Hills, Michigan, June 14-16, 2001 for a forum on vision and the safe operation of motorized vehicles. The Eye and The Auto is the first ever such gathering in the Detroit region focused on problems related to sight and automotive safety, in particular, operator factors, vehicle factors and environmental factors.
The Eye and The Auto is a research initiative of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO), a non-profit organization dedicated to vision research, ophthalmic education and support group programs that enhance the independence of the visually impaired.
