Dana Corporation Earns Ford's 2000 World Excellence
Award
TOLEDO, Ohio, April 2 Dana Corporation
announced today that it has been honored as part of Ford Motor Company's World
Excellence Awards. The award recognizes Dana as one of Ford's top suppliers
in the world for 2000 performance.
The World Excellence Award provides annual recognition based on quality,
cost, and delivery metrics jointly developed by Ford and its suppliers.
Thirty-eight suppliers from 14 countries won awards in various categories.
Dana was one of 13 suppliers to receive Ford's Recognition of Achievement,
which is given to suppliers that impact customer satisfaction by leading Ford
key initiatives: high-mileage improvement, warranty reduction, environmental
leadership, and consumer-focused technology. Dana was specifically
acknowledged in the warranty reduction category due to the efforts of its
Spicer Light Axle Group.
Carlos Mazzorin, Ford's group vice president of global purchasing and
South America, said, "Congratulations to Dana. You are one of Ford's most
valuable assets. Without your extraordinary contributions, we could not have
achieved many of our goals in 2000."
Dana Chairman and CEO Joe Magliochetti said, "It is a great honor to
receive an award such as this from our largest customer. Dana people continue
to work with Ford and other customers to provide innovative solutions of the
highest quality for the world's finest vehicles. This recognition underscores
that commitment."
"We are extremely proud to have been selected as a recipient of the Ford
Motor Company World of Excellence Award," said Bill Carroll, president of
Dana's Automotive Systems Group, who accepted the award on behalf of the
company. "Customer Satisfaction has been a major focus for our Spicer Light
Axle Group. To be recognized as a lead supplier to Ford is a direct
reflection on the efforts of our people."
The Spicer Light Axle Group is part of Dana's global automotive axle
operations, which consists of more than 25 manufacturing, assembly, and
research and development facilities in 16 nations.
