Covansys to Partner With Ford to Support New Information Technology Hub

To Manage Ford Information Technology Services in India
Covansys, a global technology services company, today participated in the official opening of Ford Information Technology Services India (FITSI) in Chennai, India. Ford unveiled plans for the new, 80,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located at Tidel Park, a high-tech center, at the ceremony in Chennai with Pramod Mahajan, the Union Minister of Information Technology & Parliamentary Affairs and other government and business officials.
Covansys will partner with Ford Motor Company to develop e-commerce solutions that will connect Ford with its customers, suppliers and dealers in the Asia Pacific Region. Covansys will provide applications development, maintenance and support, and management and administration of software projects.
FITSI will serve as a hub for Ford's information technology initiatives in India and throughout the Asia Pacific region. FITSI will primarily deliver high quality solutions in business software, Computer Aided Engineering (CAD/CAM) and call center/e-mail processing. Ford Asia Pacific (FAP) will be the first customer of FITSI to implement region wide consumer connect e-business solutions. Apart from the creation and development of systems within Ford Asia Pacific, FITSI services may be utilized for other initiatives in the region.
