Alamo Opens Its First Downtown Montreal Facility; New Urban Location Serves Tourists and Neighborhood Customers While Supporting Montreal Airport Rental Demand

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--March 29, 2001--On April 1, 2001, Alamo, a division of ANC Rental Corporation , will open its first downtown Montreal location in the heart of the city at 1206 Stanley Street. Within steps of hotels, the Metro, the train station, and the central shopping district on Rue Ste. Catherine, the new centrally located facility is convenient for international travelers as well as local customers.
With the new Montreal downtown opening, Alamo now serves Canadian customers at a total of eight of the country's busiest cities including Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax.
"Our Canadian customers have been asking us to expand our presence in Canada," commented Paul Hemmert, ANC's president, Canada. "The opening of the downtown Montreal office is an important step in meeting the growing needs of Canadians as well as business and leisure travelers from the USA and Europe. This location is also the perfect complement to our Dorval Airport facility," continued Hemmert.
"Since Alamo began serving customers more than 25 years ago, Montrealers and Canadians in general have come to count on Alamo for great value and dependable customer service at their favorite destinations. We're very pleased that we can now offer Alamo in downtown Montreal," said Marie Pare, who will manage both the Montreal airport and downtown location.
Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alamo currently serves more than 15 million travelers a year through 109 locations in the United States and Canada, and operates more than 440 international locations in Europe and Latin America. Alamo can be reached on the Internet at www.alamo.com.
