TRW Honored With Ford's 2000 World Excellence Award
LIVONIA, Mich.--March 29, 2001--TRW Inc. received Ford Motor Company's Recognition of Achievement World Excellence Award, recognizing the company as one of its top suppliers in the world for 2000 performance.TRW was honored with the Recognition of Achievement for consumer focused technology for its ABS tire pressure warning system. This technology allows drivers to be alerted by the lamp display on the dashboard when tire pressure is low. The tire pressure warning system was derived from a Ford concept and developed by TRW Chassis Systems in Livonia, Mich. The system debuted on the 2001 Ford Windstar.
Carlos Mazzorin, Ford Motor Company's Group vice president of Global Purchasing and South America said, "Congratulations to TRW. You are one of Ford's most valuable assets. Without your extraordinary contributions, we could not have achieved many of our goals in 2000."
The Recognition of Achievement is given to suppliers that impact customer satisfaction by leading Ford key initiatives: High Mileage Improvement, Warranty Reduction, Environmental Leadership and Consumer Focused Technology; Recognition of Achievements awards were given to 13 suppliers.
Ford's World Excellence Awards provide annual recognition based on quality, cost and delivery metrics jointly developed by Ford and its suppliers. Thirty-eight suppliers from 14 countries won awards in various categories.
