Avaya Signs Deal With Nissan Mexicana for Data
Network
MEXICO CITY, March 29 Avaya , a global leader in
business communications solutions and services, today announced that it has
signed a deal to supply Nissan Mexicana, one of the largest manufacturers of
automobiles in Latin America, with its data networking solutions.
"We're pleased that companies like Nissan Mexicana are looking to Avaya
for high-performance convergence networks that allow them to have easy access
to multimedia applications," said Jorge Perez Cantu, managing director of
Avaya Mexico. "Our data networking solution, based on our award-winning data
switches, is voice-ready for IP telephony and IP videoconferencing
applications."
Using Avaya's local area network (LAN) solution, Nissan will connect 2,000
users in five separate sites through a Gigabit Ethernet backbone built on
Avaya's P550 Gigabit Switch and Avaya P880 Routing Switch -- which can
implement data, voice and video applications. Also part of the solution are
Avaya's P120 Workgroup Switch and the Avaya P330 Switching System. The
network will be managed and monitored using Avaya's CajunView administration
software suite.
The project involves sites in Nissan Mexicana's corporate offices in
Mexico City, as well as its manufacturing plants in Aguascalientes, Lerma,
Civac and Toluca.
Avaya's P880 Routing Switch allows users to implement data, voice and
video applications without needing to resort to extensive and disruptive
hardware upgrades, and the Avaya P550 is an Ethernet switch designed for
campus-wide backbones. The Avaya P330 switching system is a family of
high-performance, scalable switches allow network managers to build flexible
Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and ATM solutions from the desktop
to the backbone. And at the heart of Avaya's workgroup solution is the Avaya
P120 workgroup switch to unite the switch fabric.
