Tom Gegax to Speak at University of North Dakota

Tom Gegax, Co-Founder of 540 Store Retail Chain, Tires Plus, Shares His
Personal and Professional Secrets of Success at University of North Dakota
                               Monday, April 9

MINNEAPOLIS, March 29 Tom Gegax shares his "A to Z Game
Plan for Success" with UND students and the general public when he comes to
UND's Memorial Union Ballroom, Monday, April 9. Gegax has been featured in
the New York Times, and on CNBC, CNN-fn and in three PBS specials. The public
is invited to Tom's presentation at 6 p.m. and book signing at 7 p.m. There
is no charge to attend, and tickets are not required.
Gegax founded the 540 store chain, Tires Plus in 1976. His book Winning
in the Game of Life, Self Coaching Secrets for Success is a tool for creating
success in your life at work and at home. Random House published the book in
August 1999.
Winning in the Game of Life was inspired by Gegax's journey that started
in 1989 when he was going through a divorce, discovered he had cancer and his
business was in financial ruin -- all at the same time. This "3 Ring Wake-Up
Call" motivated Gegax to reinvent his life and what he was doing with it. By
doing so, he made it through this tough time with glowing results. Tires Plus
is now a $750 million company. He has achieved and maintained excellent
health and deep loving personal relationships.
How did he do it? According to Gegax, self-management, while often
neglected by over-extended students and busy executives, is a key element of
both personal and professional success. Gegax's unique game plan shows you
how to better manage or coach yourself so you can better manage others.
One of the bedrock principles of Winning in the Game of Life is The 7 Take
Action Steps -- how to manifest your mission -- to know what you want and how
to get it. These 7 Steps, along with practical tips on wellness, learning and
communication skills make up the lessons anyone can use to create the life
they want to lead.
Gegax is available for interview both in Grand Forks and over the phone
before the visit. Call Julie Swenson, 952-921-7287 to set up a time to meet
with him.
