Eagle-Picher Updates the Announcement of the Retirement of President and CEO

    CINCINNATI, March 28 Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. and its
parent Company, Eagle-Picher Holdings, Inc., announced today that Andries
Ruijssenaars is no longer on the Boards of Directors of these companies and is
no longer President and Chief Executive Officer of these companies.  Eagle-
Picher previously announced the retirement of Mr. Ruijssenaars effective
July 1, 2001.  Eagle-Picher is undertaking a search for Mr. Ruijssenaars'
successor.
