CarsDirect.com CTO Debra Domeyer Named One of Top 25 CTOs by InfoWorld's CTO Magazine
LOS ANGELES--March 28, 2001--Recognition Underscores CarsDirect.com's Reputation for Implementing
Leading-Edge Technology to Simplify Online Car Buying
CarsDirect.com, the leading direct online automotive provider, announced today that Debra Domeyer, the company's chief technology officer, has been named one of the Top 25 CTOs by CTO Magazine, InfoWorld's quarterly publication designed specifically to arm IT executives with the news and analysis needed to connect solutions to larger, overarching technology strategies.
Published this week in the premiere issue of CTO Magazine, the award recognizes Domeyer's leadership abilities and her strategic role in developing CarsDirect.com's digital infrastructure.
The editors of CTO Magazine selected Domeyer based on her ability to bring order to the chaos of the dot-com world and define how a leading edge CTO should influence a company's operations. By focusing on development and implementation of strategic technology solutions, she and the CarsDirect.com IT team are successfully creating a world-class e-commerce storefront that serves the needs of more than a million car buyers every month.
"Debra is a true trailblazer in IT and is making her mark on the automotive sector as well," said Bob Brisco, CEO, CarsDirect.com. "The combination of the `high tech' of our complex e-commerce operation, together with the `high-touch' of our award-winning customer care, serves as the foundation for everything we do to make the online car-buying experience faster and easier."
"Debra is a great example of a CTO who has pioneered the use of innovative technology rather than following the pack, making decisions that generate impact far beyond the walls of her own organization," said Michael Vizard, editor-in-chief, InfoWorld, CTO Magazine and InfoWorld.com. "With this list of the top 25 CTOs, we are raising awareness of these outstanding men and women who consistently serve as true agents of change within their companies while shaping the digital infrastructure on which much of our economy now depends."
Domeyer has more than 18 years experience in the technology field. She joined CarsDirect.com in 1999 and heads a department of over 50 IT professionals. As CTO, her responsibilities include overseeing customer privacy, customer service, data management and business intelligence, e-business infrastructure and strategy, financial applications, security and Web site development.
"CarsDirect.com views technology as strategic in the sense that we define and continually evolve a new way for people to buy cars," said Domeyer. "The knowledge and experience of our veteran IT team enables us to rise to each new technology challenge to give CarsDirect.com that competitive edge."
The CTO Magazine honor is the latest accolade Domeyer has received for her leadership in the industry. She was also recently selected by Computerworld as a Premier 100 IT Leader.
