NASCAR WCUP: Schrader and team 'clicking' heading into Texas race weekend

Schrader's Thoughts On Texas...

"Right now this "M&M's"® Racing team is really clicking. We're not only racing well we're qualifying decent. We still have some improvements to make, but I think we are on the right track to keep improving each week. Newt and the entire team give me cars on race day that only need slight changes during the race because they are set up right on the money from practice. We are also having really productive practice sessions. Even if we aren't a top-15 car when we unload, by the time our first practice session is done we've got the car how we want it."

Schrader's Texas Highlights...

On April 8, 2001 at Martinsville Speedway "M&M's"® Racing Team driver Ken Schrader will become only the 22nd driver in Winston Cup history (1949-present) to make 500 career Winston Cup starts. His streak began on July 14, 1984 in Nashville, Tenn., in a car owned by Elmo Langley. Texas Motor Speedway will mark race number 499 for the Missouri native.

The "M&M's"® Pontiac the team will utilize this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway is an older Hendrick chassis that last ran in Rockingham in the fall of 2000.

In addition to running the Winston Cup race on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, Schrader will also compete in the Hav-A-Tampa late model race at the dirt track on Wednesday night driving a Ken Schrader Racing entry.

Schrader will sign autographs at Malibu Speedzone on Friday, March 30, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Malibu Speedzone is located at 11130 Malibu Drive in Dallas.
