Delco Remy Names North America Sales Director

    ANDERSON, Ind., March 27 Delco Remy named Guy Kananen
Director of Sales for North America. Based in the Troy, Michigan, office, he
will have Automotive OE accounts responsibility for the company in the U.S.,
Canada and Mexico. He will report directly to the Vice President of Sales for
the Automotive Systems Division, Denise Lee. According to Robert Lawson,
Senior Vice President and General Manager of Automotive Systems, "We are very
pleased to have Guy in a sales leadership role in our company. His prior
experience will enable him to make significant contributions to our company as
we introduce exciting new technologies."

    Previously, Kananen was employed by Osram Sylvania as Automotive Sales
Manager, where he directed sales for electronic components and materials,
including fuel sensor components, wire harnesses, connectors, metal stampings,
electronic module housings and telematics. Prior experience included an
assignment as Director of OEM Sales for Philips Automotive Lighting where he
was responsible for all North American sales, marketing, product management,
logistics/distribution and brand management. His previous experience also
includes a position at Robert Bosch Corporation as a Chrysler Corporation
Program Manager for starting motors and alternators for the Chrysler account.
    Kananen served five years in the US Air Force, attaining the rank of
captain. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in general engineering studies
from the US Air Force Academy.
    Delco Remy International, Inc., headquartered in Anderson, Indiana, (USA)
was formed in 1994 as a partial divestiture by General Motors Corporation of
the former Delco Remy Division. Originally founded as Remy Electric in 1896,
the company traces its heritage by the many innovations it has provided to the
automotive, military and aerospace industries ... from the first magnetos and
starting motors at the turn of the last century to advanced technology for
NASA rockets.
    Today the company designs, manufactures, remanufactures and distributes
electrical, powertrain/drivetrain and related components and core exchange

starter motors, alternators, engines, transmissions, torque converters, fuel
systems and traction control systems. The company serves the aftermarket and
original equipment manufacturer market, principally in North America as well
as Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
