Fayetteville, GA – USAR President Gene Cox has announced southeastern-based Lance Snacks has signed to sponsor the pole award for all Southern Division races on the 2001 Hooters ProCup Series schedule this season. The sponsorship agreement will include naming rights of the pole award for three of the five “Four Champions Championship Challenge” events to be held at the end of the season to determine the 2001 national champion for the Series.

“We are extremely happy to welcome Lance Snacks into the USAR family of sponsors,” said Cox. “We feel this partnership will produce immediate benefits to both USAR and Lance. Their presence in our Series will not only enhance the prestige of our pole award but also give Lance a recognizable presence to our legions of fans throughout the country.”

Lance Snacks will award $1,000 per race to the pole award winner for the Southern Division races and will award $5,000 at season’s end to the driver with the most pole awards during the season from the division.

Henry Pully, Director of Consumer Marketing for Lance said the promotion with USAR is a good match for Lance Snacks in 2001.

“This agreement is a natural extension of Lance reaching out to its consumers,” added Pully. “Awarding the pole award fits in with our “Lance On The Go” promotion for this year. We have been involved in racing for several years now and our customers enjoy great stock car racing.”

Formed in 1913, Lance Snacks is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and distributes its products primarily in 23 states in the eastern United States. Lance had sales in 2000 of over 500 million from its popular line of snack products.
