Goodyear Names Steve Buckus to Lead
Information Technology Group
AKRON, Ohio, March 26 Steve Buckus, a 20-year veteran of
information technology infrastructure, has joined The Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Company as the company's director of global infrastructure.
He will report to Eric Berg, vice president, e-commerce and chief
information officer, and lead Goodyear's efforts to globally integrate its
global information technology infrastructure.
Buckus previously was director, distributed systems, FedEx Services in
Memphis, Tenn., where he was responsible for that company's production
applications running on distributed systems. This included FedEx.com and
other FedEx.com critical applications. Buckus was responsible for all
technical and operational aspects of those systems.
"Steve brings with him a wealth of knowledge about information
technology," said Berg in making the announcement. "We are pleased to have
him as a member of our group and to have him share his expertise with us."
Prior to his last position with FedEx, he was director of technical
services for FedEx Ground in Pittsburgh; senior site manager for FedEx Ground;
manager of data centers for Caliber Technology, and data center manager for
Roadway Information Technology.
A native of Ravenna, Ohio, Buckus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
1981 from Kent State University.
