'Accelerating the Future' ... Infiniti Unveils Exciting New Focus in Q45 Ad Campaign

New Infiniti Tagline Reflects Direction of Brand and Advertising

GARDENA, Calif., March 26 Infiniti launches its new 2002
Q45 with an innovative advertising campaign that touts the car's advanced
technology, performance and unparalleled blend of grace and strength. The Q45
campaign, which goes beyond traditional print and broadcast to create an
integrated campaign including direct marketing and the Internet, also
introduces both the new voice of Infiniti (actress Natasha Richardson) and the
brand's new tagline, "Accelerating the Future," reflecting how the New Q will
set the stage for the brand's future.
"The Q45 is one of the most technologically forward thinking vehicles on
the road. The goal of the new campaign is to highlight its innovative
features with powerful visual images demonstrating the brand's new image and
focus on the future," said Steve Kight, Director of Marketing for Infiniti.
The campaign spotlights the Q45's distinctive features, including new
microprocessor technology, the most powerful headlights in the industry,
standard voice recognition, class-leading performance and the RearView
monitor.
The print and broadcast campaign offers strong visual images that deliver
powerful messages. Each ad visually and creatively conveys the features and
-- for the print ads -- is accompanied by an individualized Internet Address
(URL) that guides the reader to a more detailed description of the feature.
Additionally, the broadcast campaign seeks to inform consumers about the
hottest of The New Q's features, including Infiniti Voice Recognition and
RearView monitor and its 340 horse-powered performance. The features become
more tangible as they are demonstrated for consumers.
As Infiniti's new voice, Richardson adds style and elegance to the
campaign. Film critic Leonard Maltin cites her "seductively husky voice" as
one of her finest qualities. She is renowned for her work in such films as
Nell and Parent Trap.
The first of three TV ads will begin airing early April, while the print
campaign breaks in mid-March.
"The New Q45 makes a breakthrough statement and we wanted the new campaign
to echo that statement," said Rob Schwartz, Creative Director for
TBWA\Chiat\Day. "Whether it is to demonstrate the world's first rear-view
camera system in a production vehicle to the Q45's leading-edge voice command
system, the ads tell the story. And adding the voice of Natasha Richardson
definitely gives it that touch of class."
