BAX Global Promotes David Oldridge and Phillip Maw To Top Asia/Pacific Positions

    SINGAPORE, March 22 BAX Global Inc., a US$2.1 billion
global transportation and logistics provider, has promoted two executives,
David Oldridge and Phillip Maw, to key positions in its Asia/Pacific region,
it was announced here today by Stephen Dearnley, president, BAX Global
Asia/Pacific.
    David Oldridge was named vice president, logistics development-
Asia/Pacific and will have responsibility for managing and building the
company's Asia/Pacific logistics client base.  Oldridge joined BAX Global in
1998 as regional director, logistics development.
    Phillip Maw was named to the position of vice president,
finance-Asia/Pacific for the company.  In his new position, Maw is responsible
for BAX Global's Asia/Pacific financial resources and business control
systems.  Maw joined the company last year in the position of finance
director, Asia/Pacific.
    Both Oldridge and Maw are based in BAX Global's Asia/Pacific headquarters
here and report directly to Dearnley.
    "David and Phillip have both been key in establishing our leadership in
logistics throughout Asia/Pacific," said Dearnley in making the announcements.
"We see David's role as critical in managing and building our supply chain
management business throughout the market," he added.  "Phillip has been
instrumental in developing financial tools that help us build our logistics
business throughout Asia/Pacific and as we create distribution solutions for
our blue chip clients his role will be critical to our growth," added
Dearnley.
    Both Oldridge and Maw will be part of the region's senior management team.
    Prior to joining BAX, Oldridge was executive director to the board, PT
Gobal Indonesia, responsible for profitability of the domestic logistics
operations known as GoTrans and CityTrans.  He also was state manager
distribution for Myer Stores Limited, one of Australia's largest retailers,
where he was responsible for four distribution complexes.
    Oldridge is a graduate of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology where he
received a Masters of Business in Logistics Management degree.  He is a member
of the Logistics Management Association.
