Edmunds.com Launches True Market Value(SM) Finance Rate Estimator, Offering Consumers Personalized Finance Rates

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 22 Edmunds.com
(http://www.edmunds.com), the Web's leading consumer resource for unbiased
automotive information, today introduced the True Market Value (TMV(SM))
Finance Rate Estimator, a revolutionary product that provides consumers with
personalized automotive direct lending finance rates based on consumers' own
credit history and the area in which they live. Edmunds.com has partnered
with Fair, Isaac & Company, widely recognized for its pioneering work in
developing the FICO credit score system, to develop a risk model that enables
the most accurate and relevant self-assessment of personal credit available on
the Internet.
The Edmunds.com TMV Finance Rate Estimator invites a consumer to
anonymously complete a brief questionnaire about their credit history, then
uses a proprietary risk model provided by Fair, Isaac & Company and TMV
technology to analyze the consumer's credit tier and suggest the appropriate
finance rates, for both new and used vehicles, based on the consumer's
locality. In addition, consumers are provided the current national direct
lending rates, whether or not they complete the questionnaire.
The TMV Finance Rate Estimator is the latest product in Edmunds.com's True
Market Value(SM) line, which sets realistic consumer expectations and
minimizes stress in automotive transactions by informing consumers of the
predominant market prices for specific new and used vehicles and finance rates
given current market conditions.
"The TMV Finance Rate Estimator offers consumers a realistic look at their
individual credit tier, representing a financial institution's likely view of
them as a financial risk," said Bob Kurilko, Edmunds.com Executive Director,
Brand Management. "And by providing consumers with the average tiered lending
rates for their local market, the TMV Finance Rate Estimator properly sets the
consumer's expectations and increases transparency in the process, thus
simplifying it for shoppers and lending institutions alike."

    About True Market Value
The Edmunds.com True Market Value(SM) (TMV(SM)) products provide new and
used vehicle buyers and sellers with the current estimated vehicle transaction
prices and finance rates, customized for model, region and other specifics.
These figures are not suggestions that merely serve as the starting point in
negotiations, but are reflections of actual value in the current market.
Edmunds.com TMV vehicle prices are derived from multiple variables including
auctions, private party sales and dealer transactions occurring throughout the
United States, sticker prices, invoice prices, current vehicle supply and
demand, published prices and factory-to-dealer incentives. Edmunds.com TMV
finance rates are delivered in connection with credit evaluation by Fair,
Isaac & Company, widely recognized for its pioneering work in developing the
FICO credit score system.
