Webraska and Sonata Partner to Develop Wireless Location-Based Advertising and Enterprise Services
LAS VEGAS--March 22, 2001--Webraska, the worldwide provider of wireless navigation services and technologies, and Sonata Inc., a leading provider of wireless location-ready solutions and technology, announce their partnership to offer Location-Based Advertising and Enterprise services.Webraska and Sonata will provide technology and Location-Based Advertising solutions for merchants and carriers and Location-Based Data and Notification solutions to enterprises. Once content or advertising has been targeted and delivered via the Sonata infrastructure, directions and maps will be provided via Webraska's navigation services.
Furthermore, Sonata will integrate Webraska's mapping and routing technologies into its enterprise solutions. For example, if a retail outlet's customer is enrolled in a mobile notification service powered by Sonata, personal navigation technology from Webraska will help direct them to the closest store.
"Sonata's technology, combined with Webraska's Personal Navigation API(TM), provides tangible advantages to both advertiser and consumer that go beyond mere banner advertising," said Charles Nahas, General Manager, Webraska North America. "Advertisers and manufacturers receive actual inventory solutions and customer data based on highly-focused customer profiles, while consumers receive discounts and cash-back coupons on the products that already interest them. It's a win-win solution."
"The ability to receive timely personalized offers from merchants, complemented by turn-by-turn directions and maps that guide them to the store to purchase the product, is a very powerful tool," said Owen Davis, Sonata's CEO and co-Founder. "Let's face it, having the discount and the motivation to buy isn't useful if you are unable to locate the store."
