ArvinMeritor Partners With ANCRA International
to Distribute Heavy-Duty Cargo Restraints
Alliance Offers Customers One-Source Shopping Convenience
LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 21 ArvinMeritor, Inc.
has announced a new alliance with ANCRA International, a designer and
manufacturer of heavy-duty cargo restraints, based in Erlanger, Ky. The
alliance, announced today at the Mid-America Trucking Show by Mark Purtilar,
vice president and general manager, ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle
Aftermarket, reinforces the company's reputation as a one-source supplier for
the commercial vehicle aftermarket.
Effective April 1, ArvinMeritor will offer ANCRA International's line of
heavy-duty cargo restraints to its warehouse distributor and original
equipment manufacturer customers as part of its Euclid product line. Products
distributed through Euclid will include winch and ratchet strap assemblies,
cargo bars, decking beams and additional restraints for both flat beds and van
trailers.
The cargo restraint line, which includes over 300 part numbers, is
detailed in a new 60-page four-color catalog with photos and specifications.
The line of heavy-duty cargo restraints also will be available via
ArvinMeritor's new e-commerce website, XpresswayPlus.com .
The total market opportunity for heavy-duty cargo restraints is
approximately $120 million annually, according to Scott Ronan, director of
business development for ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket.
"When we develop an alliance, we focus on what we do well -- marketing,
selling and distributing aftermarket products, and then finding a partner who
makes excellent products with a complementary customer base," said Ronan.
"ANCRA International is a company with an excellent reputation for designing
and producing quality cargo restraint systems. They've been a leader in the
cargo restraint industry since 1969, and continue to be on the leading edge of
cargo restraint new product development today."
ArvinMeritor has extensive alliance and distribution experience. It
developed a number of successful alliances with various manufacturers,
including FrasLe friction materials, Firestone Airsprings, and Pressure
Systems International Tire Inflation Systems.
"Our alliance with ArvinMeritor will be a great service to our customers.
It will be more convenient and efficient, as they can fulfill their product
needs from one point of contact," said Ralph Abato, ANCRA national sales
manager. "ArvinMeritor has a tremendous distribution network, supported by an
experienced, knowledgeable sales force that serves OEM and distributor
customers."
ANCRA International offers a full range of cargo restraint products
featuring standard and specialty winches and heavy-duty restraint straps,
meeting DOT, CHP, and WSTDA standards. Specialty slider winches are available
for the new generation flatbed trailers. ANCRA's ratchet buckles features a
locking latch to prevent release of tension caused by vibration.
As with all ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket products, ANCRA
products will be fully supported by customer service, the convenience of
ArvinMeritor's inventory availability, and 24/7-customer service response.
ANCRA will provide training to ArvinMeritor's district sales organization,
service managers, and customer service representative, as well as technical
support as needed.
