ECD Listed on Frankfurt Stock Exchange

    TROY, Mich., March 21 Energy Conversion Devices, Inc.
(ECD) announced today that its Common Stock was listed on the
Frankfurt Stock Exchange at 1:39 p.m. (7:39 a.m. EST) in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Exchange posted a brief company overview and picture of its founders,
Mr. Stanford R. Ovshinsky, President and CEO, and Dr. Iris M. Ovshinsky, Vice
President, on their information board.
    Commenting on the listing, Mr. Robert C. Stempel, ECD Chairman, said, "We
are pleased to be listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange which provides
increased exposure for the company, especially in Germany and nearby countries
where there is significant interest in companies that manufacture
environmentally-friendly and renewable energy products.  The listing comes at
an opportune time as the need for electricity is expanding and governments
around the world strengthen environmental guidelines to address global climate
change and air pollution."
    The listing was arranged with the assistance of Mr. Neville Chamberlain,
Chairman, International Acquisition Services, Inc. (IAS).  IAS is a private
investment banking firm located in Sea Cliff, New York.
