Delphi Honored With Two Ford 2000 World Excellence Awards

              Troy-based company only supplier to win two awards

    TROY, Mich., March 21 Delphi Automotive Systems
has received both a Gold and Silver Ford Motor Company World
Excellence Award, recognizing Delphi as one of Ford's top suppliers in the
world for its performance in 2000.  The award ceremony was held last night at
the Detroit Opera House.
    
    The World Excellence Awards provide annual recognition based on quality,
cost and delivery metrics jointly developed by Ford and its suppliers.
Thirty-eight suppliers from 14 countries won awards in various categories.
Delphi was the only supplier to win two awards at last night's ceremony.

    "Globally, we work every day to exceed our customers' high expectations
and to stand out as their best supplier," said J.T. Battenberg III, Delphi's
president, CEO and chairman, who accepted the awards last night on behalf of
the company.  "Earning this important recognition from a customer motivates
our team and reaffirms our strong commitment to putting the customer first."

    "Congratulations to Delphi," said Carlos Mazzorin, Ford Motor Company's
group vice president of global purchasing and South America.  "You are one of
Ford's most valuable assets.  Without your extraordinary contributions, we
could not have achieved many of our goals in 2000."

    Delphi Packard Electric Systems received the Gold Award for electrical
distribution systems produced for Volvo in the division's Poland and Spain
facilities and distributed from its Sequenced In Line System (SILS) facilities
in Sweden and Belgium.  The Gold Award is given to the business units of
suppliers that excel in all three areas: quality, cost and delivery.  This
year, 17 suppliers won the Gold Award, an increase over last year's 11
winners.

    Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems received the Silver Award for roller
clutches produced in the division's Sandusky, Ohio, plant.  The Silver Award
is given to the business units of suppliers that stand out in quality and
delivery or quality and cost.  This year, 8 suppliers won the Silver Award.
