Oracle(R) E-Business Suite Takes Off in Asia Pacific

Rapid Adoption Demonstrates Oracle's Continued Momentum as the Leading
                     Provider of E-Business Applications

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., March 21 (http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?632553) Oracle Corp. , the
largest provider of software for e-business, today announced rapid adoption of
the Oracle E-Business Suite in the Asia Pacific region. In the past
10 months, more than 300 businesses across 12 countries in the Asia Pacific
rim have selected the Oracle E-Business Suite.
Asia Pacific-based businesses ranging from technology manufacturers and
distributors to shipping companies and financial institutions, continue to
purchase the Oracle E-Business Suite to integrate all business processes from
sales and marketing to supply chain management and financial operations.
Oracle E-Business Suite customers in Asia Pacific include Catering Exchange
Inc., Inventec Electronics Sdn Bhd, Overseas Union Bank Limited, Perodua and
Telecom New Zealand.

    Catering Exchange Inc. (http://www.cateringx.com)
Catering Exchange Inc. is using Oracle Exchange, which comprises key
Oracle E-Business Suite applications, to power Catering Exchange, an online
e-business exchange for the catering industry. By buying and selling food and
non-food goods through Catering Exchange, catering buyers and sellers can gain
market efficiencies while cutting costs, saving time and improving inventory
management. Catering Exchange Inc. is headquartered in the Philippines.
"We chose Oracle for its security, service levels and innovation," said
Daniel Roman S. Pido, chief operating officer for Catering Exchange Inc. "In
fact, the company is so in tune with the Exchange business that its
technologies go through an upgrade of some sort, every six weeks. Having
Oracle host the back-end for us, relieves us of all the trouble and cost in
keeping our technologies updated. As a result we are able to maintain only a
skeletal technical staff in Manila and focus more on delivering business value
to our customers."

    Inventec Multimedia and Telecom Corporation
Inventec Multimedia and Telecom Corporation (IMT), one of Malaysia's
largest manufacturers of electronic goods including digital cameras,
telephones and PCAs, selected the Oracle E-Business Suite over other
enterprise resource planning software vendors for its integrated suite of
e-business applications. Specifically, IMT uses Oracle Financials,
Manufacturing, Order Management, Supply Chain Management, Supplier Scheduling,
Purchase Order and iProcurement to increase operational efficiencies and cut
costs. With iProcurement, in particular, Inventec can support more than
300 suppliers across the web with more than 1,000 purchase order lines per day
compared to 168 suppliers and 600 purchase order lines per day previously.
Oracle Consulting helped Inventec implement the Oracle system, which was
completed within seven months, and under budget.
"With the Oracle E-Business Suite, we've increased production and
efficiencies across the entire company," said Mr. C H Lee, president for
Inventec Multimedia & Telecom Corp. "We can manufacture products, get them to
our suppliers and in the hands of consumers -- faster than ever before."

    Perodua
Perodua, Malaysia's second largest national car manufacturer, has been
using Oracle applications to manage its manufacturing, purchasing, inventory,
logistics, financials and human resources processes since 1998. With its
Oracle system, Perodua has been able to increase production and improve
customer satisfaction. The company can now deliver 100% of its orders on
time. Prior to implementing the Oracle E-Business Suite, only 50% of the
orders were delivered on time. Additionally, Perodua can manage invoices and
shipping details more efficiently and keep an accurate count of vehicles
manufactured.
To cope with increasing demand, Perodua realized the need for a full-blown
enterprise resource planning system that would integrate all the key business
processes. With Oracle, Perodua can link inventory to purchasing and
logistics to web-enable their supply chain and deliver to their customers on
time.

    Telecom New Zealand
Telecom New Zealand selected Oracle customer relationship management
applications, part of the Oracle E-Business Suite, to unify and automate
business practices, allowing the company to more effectively compete in the
Internet economy.
"The Oracle story struck a lot of resonance with us given the
transformation we're trying to do," said Mark Ratcliffe, chief information
officer for Telecom New Zealand. "A suite of integrated e-business
applications is the easiest way to manage an IT environment versus trying to
glue together a lot of best-of-breed applications. We're confident that
Oracle will satisfy our needs and give us the competitive edge to succeed in
the new Internet economy."
