RAUDMAN HOT TO TROT AT CAJON

Rancho Santa Margarita, California (March 20, 2001) -- Craig Raudman, driver of Dave Reed Racing's #2 Yerf-dog Fun Karts/ITPS Chevrolet in the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring and NASCAR Winston West Series, can't wait to get back on track this Saturday night in The Coors Light 125 at Cajon Speedway in El Cajon, California.

"A true short track like Cajon is a lot of fun," Raudman quipped. "We get into some intensely close, hard-charging racing there. It's my kind of track, and one of my favorites."

It's easy to understand why Raudman likes racing at Cajon. He took his first Southwest Series victory at the 3/8-mile oval in 1995.

In 1999, Raudman not only won the race, but also captured both the Gatorade Front Runner award and the Bud Pole Award (with a lap-time just 2/10 of a second shy of the track record).

Raudman's 1999 win also gave him the track record for a 125-lap event with an average speed of 56.819 miles per hour and a total race time of 51 minutes and 06 seconds.

According to team owner Dave Reed, the team's recent test session at Cajon resulted in great lap times and new information to take to this Saturday's event. Reed said, "The test session was just awesome, and Craig is pretty well cranked up after last weekend's Mesa Marin race."

Raudman won the pole and finished second in the season-opening NASCAR Late Model 100 at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. last Sunday. The finish was especially significant since he had to work his way from the rear of the field following an incident mid-way through the event.

Dave Reed Racing operates NASCAR Winston West and Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring teams featuring Craig Raudman as driver. Raudman has collected eight wins and nine Bud Pole Awards throughout his Southwest Series career, and finished in the top five in final points standings in four of his past five full Southwest Series seasons.
