NASCAR WCUP: Fans Will Find Plenty Free Parking For Virginia 500

March 21, 2001MARTINSVILLE, VA – Fans coming to the April 8 Virginia 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race at Martinsville Speedway should find access to the track fairly simple.
And once they get onto Speedway grounds, they will find plenty of acres of free parking.
“We have always worked hard to have a parking place for everyone who comes to a race at Martinsville Speedway,” said Speedway president Clay Campbell. “We seat 86,000 fans and we have enough parking for all of them
There are three different entrances to the track, which speeds up entry and exit.
Fans coming into the track via US 220 South should take a right onto Speedway Road.
Fans coming in on US 220 North should take a left onto Va. Rt. 785.
Fans coming in on US 58 East Bypass will be directed onto Virginia Rt. 976, which connects with Martinsville Speedway property.
All entrances into the Speedway lead to free parking on track property. “We have always worked to have adequate parking for all of our fans and we do,” said Campbell. “And as always, we do not charge for parking on our grounds.
Great seats still are available for the Virginia 500 for $40-$65. There are seats available in the Clay Earles and Bill France Towers and in all of the grandstand sections. Bud Pole qualifying kicks off the weekend on Friday, April 6 with the Craftsman Trucks at 1:30 p.m. and Winston Cup time trials at 3 p.m. The Advance Auto Parts 250 Truck race is Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. The Virginia 500 starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 8. All seats for qualifying and the Advance Auto Parts 250 are unreserved.
