LZ450 Luxury Sedan and All-New Elantra GT
Highlight Hyundai's Dallas Auto Show Lineup
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 19 The Hyundai LZ450 luxury
sedan and the all-new Hyundai Elantra GT five-door sedan are the headliners in
the Hyundai display at the 2001 Dallas Auto Show at the Dallas Convention
Center from March 21 to March 25.
The Hyundai LZ450 luxury sedan is the largest, most luxurious sedan in the
Hyundai line up. This vehicle is currently sold only in the Asian market, but
is being displayed in car show form to gauge the reaction of U.S. consumers.
The LZ450 features premium amenities, and is powered by a sophisticated DOHC
4.5-liter aluminum V8 engine. Its display in Dallas demonstrates Hyundai's
ability to design and craft a full line of automobiles ranging from small cars
to premium luxury sedans.
The Elantra GT is a "euro sports" five-door design that provides the
comfort and handling of a European sedan with the cargo-carrying versatility
only a hatchback can provide. The Elantra GT, scheduled to go on sale this
June, features a taut European suspension, which includes higher rate springs,
gas-filled shock absorbers and larger diameter anti-roll bars.
Other unique GT features include rear disc brakes, five-spoke alloy
wheels, fog lamps, and a unique instrument panel with purple-lighted VDO
gauges. Also included as part of the Hyundai Elantra GT package --
leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, cruise control, remote keyless
entry, and CD stereo and leather seating surfaces with front seat side airbags
-- all standard for only $13,999.
The Elantra is powered by Hyundai's sophisticated DOHC 2.0-liter
four-cylinder engine, which is rated at 140 horsepower. This engine also
powers the Elantra GLS and the sporty Hyundai Tiburon.
Hyundai' s display at the Dallas Auto Show also features two Hyundai
vehicles introduced last year -- the XG300 sedan, the largest, most luxurious
and most expensive Hyundai ever sold in the U.S. and the Santa Fe, Hyundai's
first sport utility designed specifically to meet the needs and preferences of
U.S. consumers. Completing the Hyundai display is the mid-size Sonata sedan,
the Elantra GLS 4-door sedan and the sub-compact Accent.
All Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by the Hyundai
Advantage, America's Best Warranty that includes 10-year/100,000-mile
powertrain coverage, 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage,
5-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance and 5-year/100,000-mile
anti-perforation protection.
Hyundai Motor America, headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., is a
subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. of Korea. Hyundai vehicles are distributed
throughout the United States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and
serviced through more than 500 dealerships nationwide.
