Murata Electronics Introduces Adapted High Voltage Capacitors
SMYRNA, Ga.--March 19, 2001--Modifications to High Voltage Capacitor Suite Meet Industry Demand
Murata Electronics North America, a world-leading innovator in electronics, today announced the adaptations of its new high voltage capacitors (including the GRM and GHM series), with voltage ratings equal to or greater than 500V.
These new capacitors meet the changing needs of today's component industry, like offering higher performance and greater versatility. The adapted high voltage capacitors assist Murata's customers and their engineers by allowing more latitude in product design. Even with these enhancements, the cost of the components remains highly competitive.
High voltage capacitors are used to some extent in all types of applications in the telecommunications, entertainment and automotive industries. Its specific applications include modems, switching devices and power supplies. Additionally, high voltage capacitors enable large DC voltage ratings and accommodate AC voltage applications.
"Given the increasing demands of the wireless industry, developing products that perform higher and are less expensive than their predecessors is key to staying ahead of the competition," said Frank Guiney, Group Product Manager for Murata Electronics. "This is an example of Murata's vision that has positioned the company as the component industry leader for so many years."
Murata's high voltage parts are typically made to order and cost approximately $.20/each. High voltage capacitors are normally more expensive than more common components with voltage ratings of 16V through 200V.
