NHRA: Jeg's Trucks are looking to improve

During the first of four scheduled qualifying sessions the Jeg's Trucks came out swinging. John ran a 7.602 at 177.23 mph and landed in the No. 6 spot. Mike laid down a 7.596 at 176.77 mph and moved into the No. 5 position.

"The guys have been really busy in the shop getting ready for this race. We brought our engine program in house and tested following the opening race in Pomona," explained John. "It is great to see hard work pay off!"

"We made four runs on each Jeg's Truck Monday in Bradenton tuning for this race. John and his family were expecting a new addition to their family at anytime so John stayed home," said Mike. "I made a total of eight passes between the two Jeg's Chevy S-10's. I felt like I was running my Super Comp car."

In the second session John picked and Mike slowed slightly. John ran a 7.575 at 177.07 mph and moved down to the No. 19 position. Mike ran a 7.616 at 176.49 mph and slipped to the No. 18 slot.

"We have two additional qualifying sessions tomorrow to improve," commented John. "We have been making small measurable changes to the set up in my Jeg's machine and it has responded well. We just need to get a little more aggressive."

"We went the wrong way on the set up for the second session," said Mike. "We will use the data gained over the first two qualifying sessions in both Jeg's Chevy S-10's to help improve both for tomorrow."
