The Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series comprises all competition within
NHRA's eight sportsman racing categories: Federal-Mogul Dragster, Federal-
Mogul Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Super Comp, Stock, Super
Gas and Super Street. The series covers 64 annual events, with the more than
30,000 registered NHRA sportsman competitors racing for national and
divisional honors.
The national champions in the NHRA Federal-Mogul categories for 2000 are:

        Federal-Mogul Dragster Rick Santos
        Federal-Mogul Funny Car Frank Manzo
        Competition Eliminator Jerry Arnold
        Super Stock Peter Biondo
        Super Comp Ed Richardson

        Super Gas Dan Northrop

In conjunction with the annual presentation of championship rings, a
representative of Federal-Mogul's Sealed Power(R) engine parts brand will
award each 2000 national champion with a special-edition NHRA 50th Anniversary
leather jacket. The commemorative jacket, featuring a custom-embroidered 50th
Anniversary logo, is one of the exclusive collectibles being offered through
the nearly year-long "Sealed Power Power Team" promotion for professional
engine builders.
Designed to help commemorate NHRA's 50th Anniversary, the "Sealed Power
Power Team" promotion allows professional engine rebuilders to qualify for
three levels of exclusive NHRA 50th Anniversary premiums. NHRA fans also can
purchase a full range of exclusive 50th Anniversary collectibles by visiting
Federal-Mogul's new website link at http://www.federal-mogul.com/promotions and
clicking the "Collectible Motorsports Merchandise" button.
Sealed Power engine parts -- Federal-Mogul's premier brand of internal
engine components -- also is an official brand of NHRA. The Sealed Power
product family comprises a complete system of internal parts -- including
pistons, piston rings, camshafts, bearings, valves and valvetrain components,
timing products and oil pumps -- for virtually any domestic or import engine.
Series champions Santos and Manzo may soon need extra fingers to accommodate
their title rings, both having dominated their respective categories over the
past four years. Santos, of Antioch, Calif., ended 2000 with his seventh
national-event championship in the season-ending NHRA Automobile Club of
Southern California Nationals in Pomona, Calif. Manzo, Morganville, N.J.,
also claimed seven national-event wins in 2000 -- his last the NHRA Keystone
Nationals in Reading, Pa. -- enroute to his fourth straight national title.
Biondo, Ed Richardson and Edmond Richardson are each two-time national points
champions.
