BAT International Signs Two Licensing Agreements To Distribute Its Fuel Catalyst

    SAN DIEGO--March 15, 2001--BAT International, Inc. (OTC:BAAT), announced today that it has signed licensing agreements with Bio-Clean Fuels, Inc. (BCF), and Dolphin ACI, a company which BAT owns an equity position, to distribute BAT's A-1 catalyst, an emissions reduction additive.
    BCF, a private company involved in biodiesel production, and Dolphin ACI, an engine and fuel technology company, have developed special fuel formulas for different sectors of the fuel market. Both companies have decided that by adding BAT's A-1 catalyst with other additives they have improved the overall effectiveness of their product line. The agreements were signed after both companies completed many months of testing the A-1 catalyst.
    Dolphin will be using its formula to market a new racing fuel. Preliminary testing has indicated that racing fuel octane can be significantly increased allowing racing engines to be re-tuned and also modified to increase horsepower. Initial testing by independent test facilities confirmed Dolphin's in-house testing. Details will be presented in a white paper to the racing industry in the near future to help market this new product. Dolphin has agreed to purchase 1/2 ton of the A-1 catalyst from BAT for incremental delivery from June through September of 2001. BAT has already delivered its first 100 pounds to Dolphin and an additional 100 pounds of the A-1 catalyst to BCF.
    BCF also completed both in house testing and independent testing. BCF has added the A-1 catalyst to its fuel formula with excellent results. They will market their formula to the diesel engine market. BCF's formula reduces NOX and adds lubricity to diesel fuels. NOX is one of the most difficult emissions to control and is a top priority emission targeted by most of the air quality districts in California. BCF has also agreed to purchase 1/2 ton of A-1 catalyst from BAT for delivery by mid-2001.
    In November 2000 BAT obtained exclusive rights from a foreign chemical company to distribute the A-1 catalyst in the US and eight other countries.
    The A-1 catalyst is a remarkably stable compound that can also be used in many other industrial applications, including an anti-knock agent for gasoline engines, smoke-abatement for diesel engines, catalytic agent for silicon resin and rubber, ultraviolet absorber, accelerant to carbon fiber, flame retardant to resins, reagent to silver and palladium, and many more.
    The A-1 catalyst is friendly to the environment and reasonably priced to the industry. Prices for the A-1 catalyst have not been disclosed because the company management is now negotiating with other companies to expand the industrial market usage to different industries.
