Manufacturing Delays Postpone Delivery of Panoz Esperante To Said and Davis

MANUFACTURING DELAYS POSTPONE DELIVERY OF PANOZ ESPERANTE FOR TRANS-AM DRVERS, BORIS SAID AND MIKE DAVIS

Sebring, FL (March 12, 2001) – The much anticipated debut of the Panoz Esperante for ACS Express Racing Team has been postponed due to manufacturing delays at the development plant of Elan Motorsports. Due to the delay, the team will field the Mustang Cobras # 11 and # 33 from the 2000 season until the new vehicles arrive.

“We fully expected to take delivery of the new Panoz Esperantes and have some testing done before getting to Sebring. Fortunately, we had the back-up cars to be able to participate in the season opener” commented Mike Davis, driver and team owner. “Because Boris (Said) won one race and placed second in two events in this Mustang, he has no excuses. I expect to see the # 33 car on the podium on Friday.”

According to Boris Said, “this is a real let down. We were in touch with the manufacturers throughout the process and some things were out of their control. We can’t really blame anyone. I am just really anxious to test the new Esperante and see how it measures up. Thankfully, the ACS Express crew was able to shift into high gear these last few weeks and get the Mustangs race ready for Sebring.”

Mike Davis, #11 and Boris Said, # 33, will be carrying the banner of Applied Computer Solutions (ACS) on the violet and yellow Ford Mustangs.
