Delphi Staffs-Up To Capitalize on Vehicle And Consumer Electronics Opportunities in the Automotive Aftermarket

    TROY, Mich., March 12 Delphi Automotive Systems today announced three 
key personnel appointments to help Delphi's Aftermarket Operations focus 
on rapidly growing vehicle and consumer electronics opportunities.
  
    Francisco (Frank) A. Ordonez, general manager,Delphi Aftermarket Operations, 
made the announcement."We expect electronic content on vehicles to 
increase from 22 percent to 40 percent of the value of the vehicle within the 
next ten years.  In addition, the global market for automotive consumer audio 
and entertainment products is expected to reach about $8.5 billion by 2003," 
said Ordonez.

"These appointments round out a core team within Delphi Aftermarket Operations
that will help us leverage our OE electronics experience to capture a
leadership position in the emerging aftermarket electronics market."

    Delphi plans to offer a diverse line of vehicle electronics such as sensor
technologies and engine control units, as well as consumer electronics
products including MP3 players, Satellite Digital Audio Receiver Service
(SDARS) systems, rear-seat entertainment systems, radio navigation systems,
and more.

    The following people will lead Delphi in bringing these technologies to
consumers around the world:

    Theodore A. Thacker is named general director of sales and marketing for
Delphi Aftermarket Operations.  He will oversee global sales and marketing
activities for Delphi Aftermarket Operations including the development of a
sales and marketing strategy for launching Delphi's vehicle and consumer
electronics products around the world.  Thacker brings more than 25 years of
experience in the aftermarket industry to Delphi.  Prior to joining Delphi he
was president of the Hydraulic Brake Group of Qualitor, Inc., where he led
efforts to centralize sales and marketing and to rationalize manufacturing
operations.  Prior to joining Qualitor he was president of Pylon Manufacturing
Corporation where he successfully implemented lean manufacturing processes and
the development of several innovative products.  He has served as chairman of
the Car Care Council and was a member of the Automotive Services Industries
Association's board of directors.  He received a bachelor's degree from Ball
State University, Muncie, Ind.

    Dominic Y. Seto is appointed director of engineering and manufacturing for
Delphi Aftermarket Operations, replacing Bruce Kirkham who will retire in
April 2001 after a successful 37-year career with Delphi.  Seto began his
career with Delphi more than 20 years ago as an electronics engineer.  Most
recently, he was managing director, ASEAN, Australia, and India Region for
Delphi Packard in Singapore, a position he held since January 2000.  It was in
this position that Seto honed his leadership skills as he directed all
activities in the region for Delphi Packard.  Prior to that, he was regional
director of engineering, Asia Pacific Operations of Delphi Packard.  He was
responsible for leading and directing all of the engineering related
activities for the entire Asia Pacific region, including central staffs and
operations.  Seto is a native of Hong Kong and holds a bachelor's degree in
electrical engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit.  He also received
his master's degree in management from Stanford University, Stanford, Calif.,
through a Sloan Fellowship.

    David M. Marinello is selected to fill the position of director of
consumer electronics for Delphi Aftermarket Operations.  Reporting to Thacker,
he will lead a cross-functional team in bringing electronics products and
systems to the consumer market.  Marinello brings to Delphi 20 years of
experience in all aspects of consumer electronics.  Since 1998 he led B9d,
Inc., a consulting group specializing in consumer marketing and general
management to the electronics and telecommunications industry.  Successes in
this position include increasing potential revenues for one client by more
than 50 percent and negotiating and securing new business contracts resulting
in a 20% growth for another.  Prior to that, he was president of Audio
Products, Inc.  He also was vice president and general manager of American
Mobile Satellite Corporation.  Marinello received a bachelor's degree from the
University of Illinois in Chicago.

    "These three gentlemen bring a high level of expertise as well as
perspective to our consumer electronics, vehicle electronics and service
technologies effort," said Ordonez.  "I am confident that their leadership
will help Delphi emerge as a leader in this new and very exciting segment of
the market.  I also believe they will help Delphi to exceed customer
