Hayes Lemmerz Wins Multi-Million Dollar Contract To Supply Military Wheels

    NORTHVILLE, Mich., March 12 Hayes Lemmerz International,
Inc. , a leading global supplier to the automotive and commercial
highway industries, announced today that its Commercial Highway Division has
obtained a contract to produce military wheels for the Canadian Army's medium-
duty truck, known as the Medium Logistics Vehicle Wheeled  (MLVW).
    "This contract further supports our position as one of the world leaders
in wheels for the medium and heavy-duty truck markets," said Michael McGrath,
President of Hayes Lemmerz' Commercial Highway and Aftermarket Division.
    The contract is estimated to be worth $5 million.  The wheels will be
produced at the Company's plant in Akron, Ohio.
