INTERMET Names Terry C. Graessle Vice President of Sales and Marketing

    TROY, Mich., March 12 INTERMET Corporation
announced today that Terry C. Graessle is joining the Company as Vice
President of Sales and Marketing and member of the Corporate Operating
Committee.  Mr. Graessle will assume his new position on March 26.
    Mr. Graessle has spent 25 years in the automotive supplier industry.  Most
recently, he was Federal-Mogul's Vice President of the Lighting and Wiper
Products Group following the acquisition of Cooper Automotive by Federal-
Mogul.  Prior to that, he was with the Automotive Group of Cooper Industries
for 9 years, serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  Previous to
Cooper, Mr. Graessle was with Arvin Industries for 13 years, achieving the
position of sales director.
    John Doddridge, INTERMET Chairman and CEO, said, "I have known Terry for
some time and know his track record and management experience will provide
tremendous continuity and leadership for our sales organization.  He will be a
valuable member of our senior management team."
    Mr. Graessle earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Indiana
University in 1976 and currently resides with his family in Birmingham,
Michigan.
