Car Rental Direct New B2B and B2C Tools

LOS ANGELES, March 9 Car Rental Direct (CRD), subsidiary
of GenesisIntermedia.com, Inc. (Frankfurt Stock Exchange: GIA)
reported a 260% increase in web site traffic for the two-month period ended
February 28, 2001 over the prior two-month period, and currently has a healthy
fleet utilization rate of 83%. It attributes these positive results to
increased marketing efforts and from community awareness as it opens new
locations. New web-based initiatives that will enhance both the business-to-
business and business-to-consumer segments of CRD's business are either
complete or nearing completion.
"Since we acquired Car Rental Direct last spring, one of our major
initiatives has been building CRD to be a more accessible resource for both
business and consumers," said Ramy El-Batrawi, Chief Executive Officer of
GenesisIntermedia.com. "Our goal is to constantly enhance internet-related
capabilities while opening new locations. We are pleased that business at CRD
is healthy, and we intend to drive further growth."

Building A New Infrastructure for Insurance Companies
The development of CRD's virtual Insurance Claims Center is nearing
completion. This business-to-business intranet infrastructure will enable
insurance claims adjusters to streamline and, ultimately, reduce costs
associated with automotive repairs by providing up-to-the-minute tracking for
repairs on claimants' vehicles. CRD's software will accommodate the needs of
an initial 12 insurance companies, and the Company is in discussions to
establish relationships with additional insurers.
All reservation and repair progress tracking activities are being
organized into a format customized to each insurance company with which CRD
does business. Once completed, the site will contain industry-specific data
to authorize billing for car rentals, and all insurance company-required data
fields.
The insurance claims adjustor will also have access to a database of CRD
inventory, and will be able to update "work in process" folders. This way,
cases can be closed faster and at less expense to the insurance company. The
elimination of overbilling and excessive phone calls helps secure CRD a strong
and favorable presence with the adjustor, thus resulting in the likelihood of
that adjustor to send more replacement rental business to CRD.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved an X.12
protocol to define named fields and character lengths for information that
passes between the insurance carrier and the rental car provider. While some
of the larger national insurance companies have adopted this ANSI standard,
many smaller and regional insurance carriers do not have the budgets or
resources to develop this standard interface. The CRD-developed interfaces
use the ANSI approved protocol, and will be customized to the needs of the
individual insurance companies, providing a gateway for the smaller insurance
companies to enjoy the same speed and convenience as the larger companies for
replacement vehicle setup and confirmation. Insurance adjusters and CRD staff
will be able to dispatch and track rental assignments through one unified
intranet resource.
"Our goal with the CRD Insurance Claims Center is to deliver the tools to
insurance companies that make claims handling simpler and more efficient,"
said Ramy El-Batrawi, Chief Executive Officer of GenesisIntermedia.com. "We
want to be a resource and ally to the insurance companies, the consumer and to
those who repair the vehicles. CRD's Insurance Claims Center will provide an
easy-to-use web-based infrastructure that allows for communication amongst all
parties, and gets more replacement vehicles to more consumers faster."

Facilitating The Car Rental Process for Consumers
Car Rental Direct updated its web site to enable consumers to select the
nearest CRD location, car reservation dates and specific models with various
pricing structures that, due to agreements with major insurance companies,
enable customers to obtain high quality rental services at discounted prices.
Customers are picked up at their home or place of business and chauffeured to
their chosen CRD location where their temporary vehicle awaits, or the vehicle
could be delivered to their home or office.
CRD specializes in renting cars to customers whose personal or corporate
vehicle is out of service due to an accident, mechanical repair, or theft.
CRD opens suburban and neighborhood locations, rather than at airports, to
better serve this segment of the $18.3 billion car rental industry.
Customers can also join CRD's Direct Express Club, which assures priority
reservation status and guaranteed vehicle availability.

    About Car Rental Direct
Car Rental Direct is positioning itself to become a leader in the suburban
and replacement segments of the $18.3 billion car rental industry. The
replacement auto rental segment of the industry consists of rental for the
purpose of temporary replacement of vehicles that have been sold, stolen or
are being repaired for mechanical or accident reasons.
There are approximately 7,200 independent replacement rental car operator
locations, comprising 30% of the locations, but representing only 5% of fleet
size. Car Rental Direct believes that rolling up existing independent
companies into a singular entity will create a market position strong enough
to the become the second largest market share participant in this industry
segment.
