ARCA RE/MAX Series release, Ken Schrader
Schrader enters inaugural Nashville ARCA RE/MAX race For Immediate Release
TOLEDO, OHIO, 3-8-01 - With a weekend off from the NASCAR Winston Cup world, veteran Ken Schrader has filed an entry for the April 13 PFG Lester ARCA 150 at the new Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Schrader, a seven-time ARCA RE/MAX Series winner, will be aboard his own Federated Auto Parts Pontiac for the inaugural race at the 1.33-mile concrete superspeedway.
“We’re sure looking forward to getting over there and checking out the new place,” said Schrader from his Concord, North Carolina home. “Always enjoy running new tracks, and we always have fun running with the RE/MAX Series teams. The competition over there has never been stronger; it gets more challenging all the time. Plus we have a great program with Federated Auto Parts to run the race in Nashville, which helps a ton, and two more ARCA races later this year on the DuQuoin dirt (mile) and Salem (Speedway).”
Well known for his versatility in motorsports, the former USAC Sprint and Silver Bullet champion has earned RE/MAX Series wins on dirt, pavement and road courses beginning with a victory on the Hagerstown, Maryland half-mile dirt in 1990. Schrader next won a road course event at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas in ’91 before winning on the Indianapolis Fairgrounds dirt-mile in ’94. The three-time Daytona 500 pole winner then picked up another win in ’97 on the Toledo Speedway half-mile paved oval as well as on the Springfield, Illinois dirt-mile in ‘98. Schrader also won twice in ’99 on the Anderson Speedway paved quarter-mile and on Salem Speedway’s ultra-fast, high-banked half-mile. Overall, Schrader, in 21 career RE/MAX Series starts, has 12 top-five and 14 top-ten finishes accompanied by 782 laps led in 12 races. In addition, the 4-time Winston Cup winner and 2-time Bud Shootout winner has earned six career Old Milwaukee Pole Awards in RE/MAX Series competition.
Start time for the PFG Lester 150 RE/MAX Series race is at 4 PM Central time Friday afternoon, April 13. The event will help kick off a big weekend of racing at the new Nashville Superspeedway which culminates with the Pepsi 300 NASCAR Busch Series race Saturday afternoon.
