Synapz Names Dalton As Supply Chain Analyst

    NORTHVILLE, Mich., March 8 Synapz, a leading e-commerce
solution provider serving the automotive market, has recently appointed Ronald
E. Dalton as a supply chain analyst.  In this position, he is responsible for
assisting existing and new clients in evaluating supply chain business
practices and determining cost benefits.
    Dalton brings to Synapz more than 30 years of software development and
management experience, including 22 years devoted to business process
reengineering in the manufacturing arena.  He has spent the past 14 years in
the automotive industry working for and with suppliers in various capacities.
    Prior to joining Synapz, Dalton served as project manager responsible for
the original equipment and aftermarket business units within the information
technology department for Pilkington LOF, a major tier-one automotive
supplier.  There, he was involved in defining, enhancing and implementing
manufacturing, distribution and internal supply chain systems from 1997 to
2000.
    Earlier, he also worked for the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) and
was heavily involved with the Automotive Industry Action Group's (AIAG)
Manufacturing Assembly Pilot (MAP) Project.  His responsibilities were
targeted at implementing the project's business processes and practices
throughout the supply chain, evaluating manufacturing organizations for
improvement possibilities and establishing multi-tiered electronic supply
chains.
    Dalton has been active with several AIAG work groups that have published
numerous documents such as the original EDI Project Planner, the Supply Chain
Recommended Business Practices for EDI Implementation of Requirements (PUSH)
Based EDI and the Implementation Guidelines for UN/EDIFACT DELFOR.
    He has also authored several articles for the AIAG's ActionLINE magazine
and has been a contributing author to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers
(SME) handbook series.
    Dalton earned a bachelor of science degree from Ohio State University in
Columbus and a master of liberal studies degree from Eastern Michigan
University in Ypsilanti.
