Delphi Earns Recognition as a John Deere 'Partner-Level Supplier'

    FLINT, Mich., March 8 Delphi Automotive Systems
has earned recognition as a top supplier for 2000, from John Deere
as part of Deere's Achieving Excellence Process.  Delphi was named a "Partner-
Level Supplier," Deere's highest supplier rating, in recognition of its
dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as
its commitment to continuous improvement.

    Chuck Jones, global customer manager for commercial vehicles for Delphi
Energy & Chassis Systems, accepted the recognition during a recent ceremony in
Davenport, Iowa.
    Delphi is a supplier of diesel rotary mechanical fuel injection pumps to
John Deere.  The pumps are manufactured at the company's diesel operation in
Gillingham-Kent, U.K.
    "This is the second year in a row we have been recognized for our
performance in John Deere's Achieving Excellence Process," said William S.
Warren, business line executive of diesel systems for Delphi Energy & Chassis
Systems.  "Our team in Gillingham-Kent consistently puts their focus on the
customer, sets high goals for production and accomplishes a level of quality
that Deere and other customers expect and recognize."
    Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence Process are
evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality,
delivery, cost management, technical support and wavelength, which is a
measure of responsiveness.  John Deere Supply Management initiated the process
in 1991, to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes
continuous improvement.
    "As we continue to achieve these high honors, we hope to open new doors
for Delphi in the off-highway/commercial vehicle market," Warren said.
