John F. Kennedy Jr.'s Jeep Up for Bid on eBay Motors

    SAN JOSE, Calif., March 8 A Jeep Wrangler Sahara owned by
John F. Kennedy Jr. will be offered for sale on eBay Motors
(http://www.ebaymotors.com) through March 18.  The auto is being listed by premier
collector car auction company Kruse International on behalf of the seller, who
prefers to remain anonymous.
    Kennedy bought the 1995 Jeep in 1998 from a used car dealership in
Westwood, New Jersey.  One of several vehicles that he owned, Kennedy used it
in Hyannis Port, where his family has a home, and Martha's Vineyard,
Massachusetts.  The current owner purchased the vehicle from Kennedy's estate
last year.
    The 1995 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is green with tan and green cloth interior.
It sports 35,884 original miles and is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine, a
5-speed manual transmission and factory air conditioning.  It will be offered
with a copy of the title bearing Kennedy's name and address in Manhattan, the
original registration, and a photo of him driving the vehicle.
    In addition, three additional items belonging to Kennedy will be listed by
Kruse on behalf of separate sellers beginning March 8:

    -- A notepad from the offices of "George" Magazine featuring notes
handwritten by Kennedy, its founding editor, regarding the launch of the
publication;
    -- An original handwritten letter from Kennedy to Vernon Jordan,
requesting a position with Jordan in Washington, DC;
    -- A New York Bar exam card from 1990, bearing Kennedy's name along with a
photo of him taken at the time he passed the exam.

    In December 2000, a 1974 BMW Bavaria formerly owned by Jacqueline Kennedy
Onassis sold on eBay Motors for $57,100 after receiving a total of 67 bids.
The auto was also listed by Kruse International.
