GasPriceWatch.com Announces Media Link Partner Program for
the Unwired
DAYTON, Ohio, March 8 GasPriceWatch.com, cited by Media
Metrix as one of the most trafficked web sites on the Internet, is a free site
that consumers use to find the lowest prices for gasoline in their
neighborhood. GasPriceWatch has launched a new service to help spread the
fuel price savings to consumers -- even to those without Internet access.
The Media Link Partner Program allows news outlets using print, radio and
television the ability to reach their audience with important information --
the daily high and low gasoline prices in their localized markets. This free
service gives each of these media outlets a way to generate revenue with
advertiser sponsorships, similar to traditional traffic, sports, news and
weather updates.
"We provide these markets a daily update they can report, giving them the
location of the lowest priced gas retailer and the highest price in their
area," said Bradley C. Proctor, president and CEO of GasPriceWatch, Inc.
"It's amazing to see the cars line up at the lowest priced station in town
after the updates air." Proctor also noted that traditional news outlets,
"find these sponsorship easy to sell, because they find that people tune in
to hear the updates."
Using the power of GasPriceWatch.com, the web site that currently tracks
gasoline prices at over 120,000 stations, variations of 33 cents per gallon
average can be found in each of the nation's major cities. Even when the
prices are at their lowest, savings equate to more than just a few cents,
according to Proctor. With prices this summer expected to increase to over
$2 per gallon, this could become an even bigger opportunity for those
companies that participate.
GasPriceWatch.com has been providing U.S. drivers with the ability to save
money since its launch in March of 2000. GasPriceWatch is powered by over
12,500 volunteer spotters who enter the prices they see on their daily
commutes to save their family, friends and neighbors money on the one
commodity that no one can do without. Proctor and his team have recently
launched the Fuel Retailer Direct program, and are now receiving real-time
fuel prices from gasoline vendors.
