NASCAR WCUP: Ward Burton wants to sieze opportunity in Atlanta this time

“We had the opportunity to win this race herelast fall, but we fell a little short. After dominating the end of the race, we had a late caution and that gotus all bunched up again. I think we hadclose to a six-second lead over the rest of the field and definitely didn’tneed that caution. That gives us a goodmark to shoot for this weekend.” -Ward Burton, driver of theCaterpillar Racing Dodge

BURTONON LAS VEGAS…

“We had our fair share of struggles lastweekend. We had a good qualifying run,but we never got a good handle on the car in race trim. We made a lot of changes to the car afterHappy Hour, but we were still a little off when the race got going. When we started the race we were a littleloose and Tommy adjusted for that, but we went to far. The changes made the car extremely tight andwe eventually got ourselves close to the set-up we had in it at the start ofthe race. We got a little better, butnever good enough o contend for the win.”

BURTONON ATLANTA…

“We were in Atlanta last weekend testing, but the weatherprevented us from having much of a test. I think we may have made six laps at the most. That definitely isn’t going to help us at all this weekend. Even though we had a good car here lastfall, I’m not sure if that will help us at all. With the switch to Dodge, it’s hard to say of the set-ups willeven be similar. Some things maytransfer over and others may not, so we’ll just have to wait and see. I sure hope we can have a strong run like wehad last fall – we definitely need it.”
