Motorplex Modifies Program

Motorplex Modifies Weekly Classes

Ennis, TX (March 7) --- Following a Texas Motorplex Drivers Commission meeting on Tuesday night the Texas Motorplex is making the following changes to it’s weekly drag racing program.

Beginning this Saturday the Motorplex will contest the Pro Class as an All Run 1/8-mile class open to Electronic and non-Electronic racers. The entry fee for this class will be $40 and the winner will receive $1,100. This class will pay back to the 1/8’s with a minimum of 48 cars. This will be the only 1/8-mile race contested on a weekly basis at the Texas Motorplex.

The Super Pro Class has broadened its ET breaks to include race cars and dragsters that run between 7.50-13.00 seconds. The Motorplex will continue to encourage racers to run multiple classes including Super Pro and Pro on the same night.

“ After talking to the Driver Commission and polling some drivers we have decided to add the 1/8 mile class to our weekly program. Our feeling is there are a number of weekly racers who prefer to run the 1/8-mile and we want to offer those racers a place to race. We are excited about this innovative program and we want to thank all the racers who gave us their feedback during the planning stages,” said Elon Werner, Texas Motorplex General Manager.

The Texas Motorplex Drag Racing Series will be contested beginning this Saturday and continuing through September 15. The gates will open at 2 p.m. and time trials will begin at 2:30 p.m.. Eliminations will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. or when time trials conclude whichever is earlier. For more information log onto www.texasmotorplex.com or call 972-878-2641.
