Exide Technologies Receives Efficiency Award From Fiat
PRINCETON, N.J., March 7 Exide Technologies
recently received an award for meeting stringent efficiency standards from
Italian automaker Fiat Auto SpA.
Exide Technologies, the global leader in providing electrical energy
storage solutions, received the award as part of Fiat's "Super" program, which
tracks and measures supplier performance in a number of key areas.

In addition to efficiency, other factors included in Fiat's evaluation of
its suppliers are: stock reduction, logistics and handling optimization, the
use of new or alternative materials, and the elimination of duplicative
activities and processes.
Exide Technologies has annualized revenues of $3 billion and has
operations in 89 countries and 21,000 employees. The company serves the
industrial and transportation markets.
Industrial applications include network-power batteries for
telecommunications systems, fuel cell loading leveling, electric utilities,
railroads, photovoltaic (solar-power storage) and other uninterruptible power
supply (UPS) markets; and motive-power batteries for a broad range of
equipment uses, including lift trucks, mining and commercial vehicles.
Transportation uses include automotive, heavy-duty truck, agricultural,
marine and other batteries, as well as new technologies being developed for
hybrid vehicles and new 42-volt automotive applications. The company serves
the industrial market as well as the transportation aftermarket and original
equipment markets.
