Federal-Mogul Appoints David M. Sherbin Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 7 James Zamoyski, senior vice
president and general counsel, Federal-Mogul Corporation ,
announces the appointment of David M. Sherbin to the position of vice
president, deputy general counsel and secretary, effective immediately.  In
this expanded role, Sherbin will have direct responsibility for ongoing
general legal issues of the corporation worldwide, including commercial and
operational matters, litigation, environmental, health and safety, and
intellectual property.

considerable experience to respond to Federal-Mogul's global legal issues,"
said Zamoyski.  "It also will allow me to handle additional responsibilities
in other selected legal areas."
    Since 2000, Sherbin served as deputy general counsel and secretary.  He
joined Federal-Mogul in 1997 as associate general counsel, and assumed the
additional responsibility of secretary in 1999.  Sherbin previously held
senior legal posts with Heller Financial, Inc. and Katten Muchin & Zavis in
Chicago.  He earned a bachelor of arts from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio,
and a juris doctorate from Cornell Law School, Ithaca, New York.
