NASCAR Late Model Stock Car drivers will be competing for a special
Grand Prize for the 2001 season, an ARCA / Hooter’s Pro Cup legal race
car!The 2001 Late Model Stock Car Champion at Concord Motorsport Park will be presented with the car, valued at more than $20,000 at the 2001 Awards Banquet at the Charlotte Hilton at University Place.
Gary Laton Motorsports originally purchased the car from James Finch of Phoenix City, Alabama. Finch is renowned for preparing top-notch rides for the likes of Jeff Purvis, Matt Hutter and most recently Shawna Robinson. Gary drove the car only once, at Pike’s Peak Speedway where he was running third with three laps to go when a late race incident took him from contention.
The car will be an excellent racer for tracks of one mile or less. With a 110-inch wheelbase, the car is race ready less motor, transmission and gears. All gauges, fuel lines, etc. are included.
David, Gary and Tommy Laton hope this prize will not only further the career of an up and coming Concord driver, but also provide the fans with a very exciting points battle to follow throughout the 2001 season. The 2001 NASCAR Weekly Racing season gets underway Sunday, March 18th with Open House and Open Practice from Noon until 5:00 PM. WFMX 105.7 Opening night is scheduled for Saturday, March 24th.
