WARREN, Mich., March 6 Delphi Automotive Systems
and Ashimori Industry Co. Ltd. (Osaka Stock Exchange: 1st Section
3526) have formed a teaming agreement to pursue airbag business worldwide.
This agreement comes just five months after Delphi's announcement of a joint
venture agreement with Ashimori for the production of seat belts.

"This agreement opens new markets for both our companies," said James A.
Bertrand, vice president of Delphi Automotive Systems and president of Delphi
Interior Systems, the division responsible for management of the agreement.
"Specifically, this helps enhance our occupant protection systems support of
Asian automakers. This agreement, coupled with our seat belt partnership,
broadens Delphi and Ashimori's full systems supply capability to vehicle
manufacturers globally."

"We are very pleased that this teaming agreement will further enhance the
relationship between Delphi and Ashimori," said Shigeo Ashimori, chairman of
Ashimori Industry Co. Ltd. "The seat belt joint venture has helped the
companies win more seat belt business. And now we are able to expect more
opportunities worldwide."
