ArvinMeritor, Inc. Appoints Ernie Whitus Senior Vice President, Human Resources

    TROY, Mich., March 5 ArvinMeritor, Inc. today
announced the appointment of Ernie Whitus to senior vice president, Human
Resources.  He reports directly to Chairman and CEO Larry Yost.
   Whitus will oversee all corporate Human Resource functions such as
worldwide staffing, corporate human resources and administration,
organizational and employee development, functional strategic planning and
organizational and management resources.  In addition, he will lead the
company's newly formed global Human Resources Council, as well as a series of
ArvinMeritor initiatives including leading the implementation of its
performance management system, the company's continuous improvement system,
and coordinate the development and implementation of Human Resources best
worldwide practices.
    Whitus joined former Meritor predecessor, Rockwell Automotive, in 1997 as
director, Human Resources, Heavy Vehicle Systems.  In early 1998, he was
promoted to vice president, Human Resources, Heavy Vehicle Systems.
