Northern Light IRL: Penske Auto Center to Sponsor Penske
Racing at Phoenix Opener
TROY, Mich., March 1 Penske Auto Center will be the
primary sponsor of the Penske Racing cars driven by Gil de Ferran and Helio
Castroneves in the 2001 Pennzoil Copper World Indy 200, according to an
announcement today by Roger S. Penske. The season-opening race for the 2001
Indy Racing Northern Light Series is scheduled for Sunday, March 18, 2001 at
Phoenix International Raceway and will be televised live at 4 p.m. ET by ABC-
TV.
De Ferran and Castroneves will drive Dallara chassis on Firestone tires
with power by Oldsmobile engines.
