Sequa Elects Two Corporate Vice Presidents

    NEW YORK--March 1, 2001--The board of directors of Sequa Corporation has elected two senior operating managers to the additional post of corporate vice president. The two are Robert F. Ellis, who directs the Warwick International Group, and George Reall, who heads Sequa Can Machinery (SCM).
    In announcing the board's decision, Norman E. Alexander, chairman and chief executive officer of this diversified technology-centered manufacturer, said, "We are fortunate to have talented and experienced operating managers across Sequa's broad organizational base. Bob Ellis and Gus Reall typify the high standard that prevails throughout our company, and we are pleased that the board has recognized their efforts on behalf of Sequa Corporation."
    Ellis, 49, managing director and chief executive officer of Warwick International Group since 1999, served previously as executive vice president, secretary and finance manager of the company. He joined Warwick as an accountant in 1980. A native of Chester, England, Ellis received an undergraduate degree from Buxton College in 1970 and a graduate business degree with honors from Liverpool University in 1973. Ellis is a member of the Confederation of British Industry, a corporate member of the Chemical Industries Association, and an industry advisor to the Bank of England. Warwick International, based in the Mostyn, Wales, is a leading producer of the specialty chemical additive TAED, a bleach activator that boosts the cleaning power of laundry detergents and automatic dishwasher detergents.
    Reall, 41, president and general manager of Sequa Can Machinery since 1998, began his career with the company in 1993 and advanced through a series of positions in production and operations management. He served as director of manufacturing from 1993 to 1996 and then as vice president of manufacturing until assuming his present post. Reall received a BS in mechanical engineering from Union College in 1982 and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1986. New Jersey-based Sequa Can Machinery designs and manufactures equipment to form and decorate two-piece cans, supplies spare parts and upgrade kits, and provides an extensive field service program in support of customer installations.
    Sequa Corporation is a technology-based company whose other principal operations include the repair and manufacture of components for jet engines; the manufacture of propulsion systems for missiles and satellites; the production of automotive airbag inflators; the coating of metal coil for the building products industry; the design and manufacture of dryers and related equipment for printing and other industrial markets; the supply of cigarette lighters, power outlets and electronic sensors to the automotive market; and the design and manufacture of men's formal attire.
